WHERE’S PAWPAW?
| College student Noble Williams rushes home after receiving an alarming call: her PawPaw’s health has taken a turn for the worse. Joined by her two best friends — Sunshine, the tree-hugging optimist, and Nigeria, the flat-earth-government-is-behind-everything realist — they head home, running into a blindfolded Bird Box–inspired group along the way. Just another day.
| At the nursing home, PawPaw is thrilled to see Noble, but when they’re alone, he reveals something unsettling: “You gotta get me outta here — they gon’ wipe the floor with me.” Before Noble can react, the nurses return and escort her out.
| The next day, Noble, her crew, and Aunt MeekMeek are informed that PawPaw is missing. The only clue is his cryptic warning: “The clock is ticking…” which leads Noble to a goofy relic from her childhood — a giant Flavor Flav–style clock PawPaw always made her wear.
| From there, the group embarks on an absurd, high-energy hunt through eccentric townsfolk, bizarre situations, and hilarious dead ends, following PawPaw’s breadcrumb trail of clues. Search Party: Where’s PawPaw? is an early-2000s-inspired, feel-good, PG-rated comedy full of heart, chaos, and family love — a movie you watch for pure joy.

[ FILMMAKERS ]

| Some of my favorite childhood memories are going to the movies with my dad — sitting through the trailers, giving our up/down/maybe ratings, then rushing to the car to debate which movie we’d see next. Those moments mattered. They were simple, fun, and full of family.
Somewhere along the last decade, that kind of film — the kind you can watch with your mom, your brother, your kids — became rare. Everything became heavier, more “important,” more political, or more explicit. And while there’s space for all of that, I missed movies that simply brought people together.
That’s why my mom and I started Faith+Works Productions: to make films for family, by family. Stories full of joy, silliness, heart, and originality.
This film came from a very real place. When I was 19, I was cast in an HBO show created by Issa Rae — my first major project. The two women I acted alongside became like sisters. We were newcomers, figuring it out together, and during a goofy car scene the director looked at us and said, “Y’all need your own show.” That stuck with me.
Fast forward — we weren’t invited to the show’s premiere. It stung, but it also taught me something important: this industry won’t always hand you a seat. Sometimes, you build your own table. So my mom and I wrote a movie inspired by me and those two girls — our real personalities, our real chemistry, our own chaotic humor.
I directed this film at 22. I didn’t have all the technical vocabulary, but I had vision, preparation, and an incredible team of seasoned professionals who supported me. And I had confidence in God — if He positioned me here, He’d equip me to lead. Bonus: having my mom as Executive Producer meant when I said, “We need more wardrobe budget and a specific color palette,” things… magically happened.
Ultimately, comedy itself inspired this project. Sometimes the most healing, transformative thing is simply laughing — the kind of laugh that makes your stomach hurt. We wanted to make a film where logic takes a back seat and joy drives the car. A film that lets people escape together.
My goal is simple: bring families together, introduce new fresh faces to the screen, and spread joy. That’s what Christ does for us — and that’s what we hope this film reflects.
